Double Take Denim Leggings I love my jeans just like, I love my leggings they are two trusty go-tos. Sometimes an outfit just calls for leggings as much as you would like to wear jeans or visa versa. You leave the house wishing you could change, knowing all the well that the outfit would just not be the same. This season on the runway everybody was showing skintight jeans or so I thought, and soon to a flurry of excitement I realized they were leggings that looked like jeans!!! A beautiful advancement in fashion I feel, they have been nicknamed “jeggings,” (if you didn’t catch on that was a combination between leggings and jeans.) Jeggings are a must have and a worthy addition to your wardrobe they will become an item in your closet that you can trust like an old friend!!! I HEART JEGGINGS!!!

Golden Gals Who doesn’t gold love gold? Clothes that is (but I don’t mind jewelry either)!!! Gold clothing shows luxe and chicness although it doesn’t have I just threw this on and left the house, it does have some effortless look as to “I put this on and I know it looks good.” Now gold and day does not always go hand in hand but if it is a fancy event in the day it will work well. Gold clothing always looks good with a black tight and boots for the winter and fall, for the summer I suggest a gold Grecian dress always looks good with a tan. Any gold clothing should be worn with gold jewelry. If you decide to go with a gold skirt I suggest wearing a black top it would be extremely cute; if you decide to go with a gold top I would wear a dark wash skinny jeans (Seven for All Mankind has a great ones I personally love they are called the Roxanne). For shoes I would go black flats and if they have embellishment make sure it is gold or black boots is always adorable and gives off a Parisian look. I HEART GOLD!!!

Flapper Fashion When I first think of the 1920’s and 30’s I don’t think of the Depression I think about a beautiful change in fashion. Women started wearing short flapper dresses!!! Women were sick of wearing long dresses that were hard to move in and had such bulk to them it was ridiculous some of the dresses would weigh 35 pounds that is like walking around with a Newfoundland puppy on you all day!!! Now that the flapper has started to reappear in fashion I think we have to celebrate these courageous women who wore short dresses at the risk they would look foolish. I love flapper dresses they are reappearing with less beading since we last saw them in the twenties but now concentrated more on the fringe. Un Duex Trois has come out with a beautiful one. The flapper dress looks great with a classic long strand of pearls. I HEART FLAPPER DRESSES!!!

So far away….. Spring Break Although it seems so far away since we got back from Winter break, designers are now showing their Resort and spring collections making me feel one step behind. I decided before I rush out to buy my spring wardrobe I am going to first plan out my spring look and then rush out to Kenzie Kids to but my spring wardrobe. So as a cliffhanger next month I will give you the tips and trends to know to put spring in your step!!! Comments from Caleigh’s Closet

Fall/Winter 2009

Sequins This season everyone is obsessing over sequins and they should be!!! They add an instant touch of glamour, luxe, and style. I do have some tips on how to wear sequins. When wearing them keep the rest of your outfit subtle. Limit the sequins to one piece. Remember that Sequins are something that every girl needs a little in her wardrobe for some excitement. I HEART THEM!!!

Fun Winter Coats It’s starting to ease into the winter season and you think time to pull out the big oversized down coats that make you feel like a marshmallow fear not there are finally some cute winter coats here. These coats come in a wide array of color some are in hot hues of pink or the classic black with a shine to it. Many of the fur coats have a touch of fur on the hood, which is so chic and stylish. One that I absolutely love is the metallic silver with the hood it is amazingly chic it is beyond words. I HEART THEM!!!

80’s Flashback The year is 2009 but lets travel back to the eighties (cue the song 1985). Some of the things from the eighties that have been revamped to modern times are the black jeans. They are probably my favorite they just ooze coolness and effortless chic which every girl wants. The next one is the graphic tee with a cool phrase or saying they make a statement but still very stylish. Shirts with the holes for the thumbs no matter what they look like they are still very cool and say the eighties. These are the items that really make you wish you had lived in the eighties. I HEART THEM!!!

Party Dresses Dressed Down If you were to look in my closet right now you would see countless party dresses. I used to get dressed in the morning and look over at them longingly wishing for the next party until it hit me dress my party dresses down. I love wearing my party dresses with leggings, a cute sweater, and a belt. It dresses your favorite party dress down and completely revamps it but you still have the confidence of wearing a party dress. I HEART THIS!!!

Max out on Maxi dresses

Spring/Summer 2009

My favorite dress for the spring/summer season is a maxi dress it can be either preppy, gypsy, or glamorous. A maxi dress can be great for a day of shopping, a trip to the beach, or a fancy party. A maxi dress looks great on every body type. A maxi dress will go everywhere this summer. My favor type of maxi dress is a halter-top. I like patterns or solids, but if it is solid it must be bright. For a fun flair a pin is fun or some fun beading. I like wearing my maxi dress with a metallic sandal. There are some rules for the maxi dress, as surprising as it may be. The dress should touch the ground and it can be flowy, but it usually looks better if it has some shape to it or you can belt it. The last thing is absolutely no animal prints; it just doesn’t look good on anybody (that is excluding zebra prints and I love them on maxi dresses!!!!!)For jewelry I think lots of bracelets or bangles your choice. A couple of pendants for your neck, but don’t leave your houses with nothing on your ears I think some pretty, sweet, hoops,As for hair I believe a low bun or high pony. But let’s end this look with shoes. Tory Burch has a great pair of sandals that come in silver or gold. They are fabulous and you will get a lot of mileage out of them. This is a great way to wear the new maxi dress style. This is one of my favorite reinvented styles for this summer and I am first to say that you will look beautiful in this look; it will work for you.

Short Style
My favorite everyday outfit right now is denim shorts with a fun, patterned, top. This is comfy and more importantly you can wear it all summer long. The look is great; I am excited to wear it all summer. You can wear this look with a short jean short. For your top I suggest a flowy top or you can go somewhat fancy too. Your shirt should be either bright or have a pattern, but absolutely no neutrals. Juicy Couture has a lot of fun and fabulous tops that work great for this look. Also for shirts Splendid splatter tops that are really fun. Your shirt can be tucked in, but if it is tucked in you must wear a belt even if your shorts fit fine. For your shorts, they can be denim and they can be color denim as well. They should be short, but NOT Bermudas and no daisy dukes please!!!! If you decide to go with the classic denim you can either go really light or pretty dark, but do not go too dark. As an everyday hair look a high pony or a fun bun. I would like to warn you as well summer is not the time to get bangs wait until August because they will stick to your forehead for the entire summer, which I know is a bummer. Now over the summer keep your hair lax because no matter how much time you spend on it your hair will just fall down I promise you. Accessorize with jewelry of course. I think some bangles; keep little studs in your ears, and some fun necklaces by Dogeared. Combine it all and it is fab. This look is one of my favorite looks for this season. This look will be great for shopping, sleep-away camp, and a day of hanging out with friends. Now that I have shown you all of the ways to rock this look and most off all have fun with it.

Slumber Style
Isn’t every opportunity a fashion opportunity even a slumber party? Aren’t you tired of wearing random, oversized, t-shirts and mix-match pants to bed? I have found the perfect solution. Cute pajamas are here, finally! They come in multiple patterns and colors. I also have found an adorable cosmetic case for sleepovers. Some sets are cute little tops with little shorts; they come with silver dots on white fabulous!!!! You could also go for a royal purple set by Ella Moss that I love. That is only two combinations and there are plenty more fun sets. Both are sold at Kgirls. I also found the perfect cosmetic case it comes in a flurry of preppy colors purple, orange, blue, pink, and green. It has two bows on each side and a zip top and it can hold a lot. My favorite quality of it is the inside you cannot mark the inside, which is really practical. This is what the cosmetic case looks like my other favorite quality is that it is fabulous. You can put you retainer, toothbrush, cell phone or lip-gloss. Where to hold your pajamas and cosmetic case in a really fun Roxy suitcase; it can hold everything. It is waterproof and has a great pattern. It is big enough to take on the plane and small enough for an overnight or a weekend of skiing. This is why I love this suitcase for everything. Now when you go to a sleepover you have the sleepover survival kit cute pajamas and an adorable cosmetic case. It will be really great and now you have a fun pajama set.
